SGT Adam Ordway, Army National Guard

Adam Ordway,nephew of Rocki and Frank Thompson has recently deployed for his second tour of duty in Afghanistan as an Infantry Squad Leader.

Adam is the brother of David Ordway of Wallingford, CT and second son of Faith Ordway (Rocki's late sister), and the late, Michael Ordway, formerly of Meriden, CT.

Adam has proved a remarkable young man. He has completed 2 years of his four year college degree at CCSC and plans to finish his studies when he gets back to the states in about a year.  Please keep Adam and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

SGT Nathan Hemingson, USMC

Nathan, son of Joyce and Richard Hemingson, was recently stationed in Iraq. Nate is a Staff Sergeant in a Communications Unit. He is Wire Chief, meaning he's responsible for the telephones and other wired communication equipment in his area. He's also Platoon Sergeant, a kind of mother hen to the men and women in his platoon. He ,like all Marines, is a rifleman. He returned to the U.S. in the spring of 2009.

USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7)

Peter is the husband of Kate Leo, Daddy of Emma Jane (EJ) and son-in-law of Jane and Sam Franklin. Peter joined the USS Iwo Jima in late November 2008 following a flight to Bahrain and then a 2 hour helicopter flight out to the ship. Peter is now in the Persian Gulf, retunring to the states in the Spring of 2009.

The USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship.

Jordan Dalton, USMC

Jordan Dalton is the son of Nancy Dalton. Jordan has been selected and reassigned to a unit doing in the field training of local, tribal Afghan police. He is a bit vague with details due to security reasons.  This Marine Unit is headquartered at Camp Bastian in Helmand Province in the south desert

Tim Vergo, 82nd Airborne

Tim Vergo is the nephew of Tom Vergo.  He is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army.  He presently is in Iraq for his second tour!
