Lieutenant Commander, Peter R. Leo, (Navigator)
USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7)
 Peter
is the husband of Kate Leo, Daddy of Emma Jane (EJ) and son-in-law of Jane
and Sam Franklin. Peter
joined the USS Iwo Jima in late November 2008 following a flight to
Bahrain and then a 2 hour helicopter flight out to the ship.
Peter is now in the
Persian Gulf. He hopes to be back home in April.
The USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) is a
Wasp-class amphibious assault ship.

SGT Nathan Hemingson, USMC
Nathan, son of Joyce and Richard Hemingson, is stationed in Iraq.
Nate is a
Staff Sergeant in a Communications Unit. He is Wire Chief, meaning
he's responsible for the telephones and other wired communication
equipment in his area. He's also Platoon Sergeant, a kind of mother hen to
the men and women in his platoon. He ,like all Marines, is a rifleman.
He is scheduled to return to the U.S. in the spring of 2009.
